JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develops; organizes; and conducts Mine Warfare training and educational programs for personnel assigned to Littoral Combat Ships. Must be capable of conducting conventional knowledge-based classroom teaching and performance/scenario-based laboratory training.
The candidate would Train mid-level to senior-level personnel in Legacy combat systems operations, Tactical Planning procedures for Mine Countermeasures, and components of Littoral Combat Ship's Mine Warfare Mission Module. Must be able to understand and train to naval ordinance related to MIW. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for LCS courses supporting ship operations and employment training.
GENERAL TASK DESCRIPTION:
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Seven (7) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the seven years, one (1) year of experience as an Instructor/Trainer/Evaluator in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
· Desired: Navy Instructor NEC 9502 - One (1) years of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment.
· Experience as a trainer/instructor and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of CSCS/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
· Experience with Mine Warfare (MIW), Mining processes and procedures, MIW legacy technologies, and advanced MIW systems relating to the LCS.
· Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
· Hold Current Secret Clearance or able to obtain Secret Clearance.
· Location: San Diego, CA.
· Travel may be up required to 5 % of time.
