Oncology Services Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's oncology services policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being an Oncology Services Director ensures oncology clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Oncology Services Director advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD. Typically reports to top management. The Oncology Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Oncology Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Salary Range: $18.29-$23.00

Whether we are a nurse holding our patient's hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient's schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

    Responsibilities:

    • Schedules all follow-up appointments in the practice management system following the provider order and/or office protocol in a high-volume clinic setting.

    • Cancels/reschedules appointments according to patient or physician scheduling changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.

    • Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.

    • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/practice.

    • Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Covers for other front office functions as requested.

    • Schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request. May obtain necessary authorization and pre-certification as required.

    • May communicate to patient about tests being scheduled and potential prep work needed, inquiring about test specifics from necessary parties and gathering patient information as needed
    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least eighteen (18) months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required. Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required. -Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position. -Demonstrates adaptability: Handles day to day work challenges confidently; is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; demonstrates flexibility. -Shows work commitment: Sets high standards of performance and works efficiently to achieve them. -Commits to quality: Emphasizes the need to deliver quality products and/or services

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.

    All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.

    Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against influenza upon commencing employment. Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis for exemptions to this requirement in accordance with applicable law.
