Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Under California Government Code Section 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework and may be eligible for full-time remote work in some circumstances and/or time-periods, at the sole discretion of the Department. Telework-eligible must reside in California. Headquarter location will be designated on the selected candidate’s primary residence location. This is subject to change if HCD’s criteria is met.

    Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will perform varied and complex technical analytical assignments during the development and implementation of enterprise-wide organizational efforts to improve business processes that align with strategic direction. The AGPA performs research and analysis as it relates to strategic planning and organizational development. Supports and models an adaptive organizational culture, which reinforces continuous learning, supports collaboration with stakeholder, and delivers quality services.

    • Experience in analyzing and interpreting written material to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on that data.
    • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams.
    • Demonstrated communication skills and experience presenting issues before a wide range of audiences including senior level management teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to convey information in writing according to the needs of the audience.
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to identify, document, and implement business improvement opportunities.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of change management methodology, best practices, concepts, and tactics.
    • Demonstrated ability to produce measurable data-driven results efficiently, to provide data visualization that supports the results, and to communicate complex data clearly to your audience.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and customer engagement skills.

    Pay: $5,684.00 - $7,114.00 per month
