Description

APMEX is seeking a highly motivated Product Development Intern to join our team of energetic professionals, all looking to grow their stories! The Product Development Intern will take part in the holistic approach for designing new product lines. This includes everything from doing market research, identifying problems, product development, designing informed solutions and a go-to-market plan. In other words, taking a simple idea and turning it into something tangible.

The internship will serve as an excellent opportunity to learn and develop professional skills focused on merchandising and product development within an established curriculum and learning process.

A Day in the Life of a Product Development Intern:

• Engage in multiple product & packaging projects, keeping projects on-budget and on-schedule
• Act as a liaison between design and product management on ongoing projects
• Communicate design requirements to vendors
• Write technical specifications that convey the requirements for product development
• Submit new proposals and designs for evaluation
• Participate in organizing all steps of design, packaging and product development
• Build out proposals for new licensors or expansion of product lines with current partners
• Select the appropriate vendors based on project-specific demands
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Design, Business, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Communications, or other related fields
• Junior/Senior level or recent college graduates
• Interested in pursuing a career in Product Design, eCommerce, Marketplaces, Merchandising, etc.
• Proficient in the basics of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Detail oriented
• Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset to identify new areas of opportunity to grow the business
• Tech savvy – is comfortable learning to use new software.
