Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     THE JOB

    WM is seeking a motivated college student, preferably a rising junior or senior, with a science and or engineering passion to advance the CAHNR Cannabis Program. This position will involve research into the automation and efficiency of cannabis production in the state of Connecticut. Over the summer you will be involved in research, development, and deployment of electrical engineering efficiency studies of Cannabis production equipment and facilities, analysis of this data, and proposals to make improvements. Deployment of energy-saving automated systems as well as scientific research of yield optimization using existing life science industry instrumentation & SCADA batching technologies. This role is also open to graduating seniors, interested in developing project management capabilities, with the possibility of rolling into a full-time role at the end of the internship timeframe.

    THE DAY-TO-DAY - Work directly with our Project Management Team:

    • Business development, communications, research, and tenacity building relationships with stakeholders in the CT Cannabis industry
    • Researching prospects, communicating capabilities, formulating solutions, deploying assets
    • Performing business development & communications for other industry verticals WM serves
    • Managing vendor and client relations to ensure service expectations are met
    • Assist in the management of the WM University programming & communication
