Reports to: Project Manager
The Warehouse Specialist (WS) is responsible for the daily operations of the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity warehouse. This role includes overseeing the procurement of consumables and select materials, managing inventory, and optimizing warehouse organization and off-site storage with a focus on cost-efficiency and space utilization. The WS works closely with the project manager, property and planning manager, and construction site supervisors to ensure the timely preparation of materials, supplies, and tools for daily use. The WS is also responsible for returning excess materials promptly and maintaining Iowa Heartland Habitat vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
· Plan, organize, and manage warehouse operations, including procurement, documentation, storage, and distribution of supplies, inventory, materials, tools, and equipment.
· Coordinate delivery of materials, as needed, and necessary supplies to job sites to ensure smooth daily operations.
· Arrange for the transportation and storage of completed wall panels following off-site panel builds.
· Ensure timely maintenance and replacement of vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment as needed.
· Manage the inventory system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
· Enforce health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment.
· Provide assistance to construction and repair teams during special events or peak building seasons as needed.
· Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance for company vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment.
· Maintain organization and upkeep of construction parking lot.
· Snow removal of office and construction parking lots.
· Proficiency in warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, inventory management, and terminology.
· Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Forklift operation experience required; skid loader experience preferred.
· Knowledge of stock replenishment processes and monthly inventory tracking/reporting.
· Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
· Exceptional driving record and experience safely operating heavy machinery.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build respectful relationships with coworkers, volunteers, contractors, and subcontractors.
· Dependable, hardworking, and a team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Excellent multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

· General construction knowledge required.
· Previous experience in a warehouse environment required.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday.
· Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods.
· Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach overhead, climb, and use stairs.
· Must be able to work in facilities that are not climate-controlled and adapt to hot or cold conditions.
