  • The Community Health and Resource Coordinator works to help Springville City residents by developing, coordinating, and administrating activities, programs, and resources with the objective of promoting better mental health outcomes that lead to positive healthy habits.

    This individual works closely with city leaders, employees in various city departments, community partners, and volunteers to coordinate these efforts.

    This individual will also evaluate the performance of City wellness programs, strategies and policies designed to serve both youth and adults.

    The hours of this job are 20 hours a week, with occasionally working up to 27 hours a week, and includes working some evening hours.

    • Create, prepare, and implement programs for the public.
    • Market programs and services in a variety of ways including social media.
    • Manage a mobile outreach station to support and connect with various community events throughout the year.
    • Coordinate and lead meetings with various community stakeholders.
    • Complete all prevention related documentation and data collection as required by any contract with an outside agency and for furthering the objective of citywide substance abuse prevention.
    • Purchase necessary supplies and makes financial decisions with minimum supervision.
    • Obtain, compile, synthesize and disseminate key statistics.
    • Provide instruction to Springville residents via web, email, social media, and other technology.
    • Exemplify excellent customer service skills to residents of all ages, particularly youth.
    • Be knowledgeable in library services and periodically work at library services desks
    • Produces various reports, utilizing the computer system, and takes needed action.
    • Make recommendations related to improving procedures.
    • Attend ongoing trainings.
    • Pursue county, state and federal grants applicable to this position.
    • Plus, all other duties as assigned.

    Bachelor degree in health, behavior or social science, or other related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

    • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other organizations, and the general public.
    • Skill in use of Microsoft Office programs and online navigation.

    Performs duties that may include light physical effort such as lifting, bending, stooping, and walking. May require prolonged sitting or standing for up to five hours at a time.

    Must be adaptable to changing work hours. Occasionally may lift materials up to 40 pounds.
