Job Title: Program Compliance Representative

Salary: Starting at $4,079.00 monthly, commensurate with experience
Overview:
Performs assignments within a designated district of the state of a technical, complex, confidential and sensitive nature with entities audited, regulated or in a fiduciary relationship with the Secretary of State’s Office including but not limited to financial institutions, currency exchanges, remittance agents, driver facilities and salvage inspection stations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison for the Secretary of State’s Office for the Over the Counter Sticker Program; inspects financial institutions applying for participation in the Over the Counter Sticker Sales Program; audits sales records to insure sales and deposits are accurate and remitted on a timely basis; establishes proper sales systems connected with this program; promotes good working relationships between the Secretary of State’s Office and financial institutions enrolled in the Over the Counter Sticker Program; determines compliance with all requirements set forth by the Secretary of State.
- Performs Returned Check collecting functions within an assigned geographic area; independently contacts the individual, their bank or other financial institutions from which the check is drawn; if needed, works with local law enforcement or Secretary of State Police to either collect the outstanding funds or removal of license plates; collects funds and converts to money order and sends a money order and reports the collection to the Returned Check Section; and files appropriate status reports of collections.
- Performs audits of temporary registration permits on all remittance agents and driver facilities; confidentially reports any violations of policy and assists with corrective measures or may refer violations to the Secretary of State Police for further investigation; supplies any additional related Secretary of State forms to all participating entities.
- Inspects businesses applying for license to act as remittent agents for the Secretary of State; recommends bonding levels in conformance with the Illinois Vehicle Code to the Department of Vehicle Services; annually reestablishes bonding levels through the audit process.
- Serves as district representative for credit card program which includes but is not limited to training new staff on policies and procedures; informs all participating entities on new or revised policy and procedures.
- Participates in special projects of a confidential nature; participates in the development of new and improved methods for expediting deposits or reducing discrepancies.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

- Requires willingness to travel frequently and to keep irregular work hours.
- Requires ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
- Requires willingness to travel, access to an automobile, possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and proof of automobile insurance.
Education and Work Experience:
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, with coursework in public or business administration AND one year of professional experience in a public or private organization.
