Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in the daily kitchen operations including menu development, purchasing, inventory, cost control, and sanitation. Oversees the activities of the kitchen staff and monitors food production and presentation. Being a Sous Chef resolves operational issues. Performs quality checks on ingredients and prepared dishes. Additionally, Sous Chef complies with all safety and food sanitation laws and regulations. Supervises, trains, and mentors staff. May require an associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to an executive chef. The Sous Chef supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Sous Chef typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Duties:

    - Prepare and cook delicious and visually appealing meals according to recipes and customer preferences

    - Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines

    - Supervise kitchen staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations

    - Manage inventory levels and order necessary ingredients and supplies

    - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

    - Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and specials

    - Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction

    - Adhere to all health and safety regulations

    Experience:

    - Proven experience working as a Chef in the food industry

    - Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations

    - Excellent cooking skills with the ability to create diverse and flavorful dishes

    - Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing a team

    - Proficient in kitchen management software and systems

    - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

    - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
