Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • General Purpose:

    This position is located at the Customer Training Center. The incumbent should be competent in writing technical lesson plans. They will be required to provide training instruction to customers and Flow associates in group settings. The individual will operate and maintain Flow UHP systems (with training). This position requires interaction with the sales, marketing, and technical service departments as well as Flow’s customers. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct training on the maintenance and operation of Flow equipment for customers and associates in groups of up to 15 people in person and online on capabilities, performance, optimization, and increased utilization of their equipment.
    • Program complex, 3-D Cad based 5-axis programs. Be able to cut precision 2, 3 and 5-axis parts using waterjet technology.
    • Create custom application programs for customers.
    • Direct flow of work to maximize efficiency of training center resources and equipment, and personnel.
    • Plan & conduct applications, operator and maintenance training classes for customers, associates.
    • Provide training, applications support and basic troubleshooting for customer (over the phone & at customer site) as needed.
    • Will create training curriculum in PowerPoint and other types of demonstration programs for Flow associates and Flow customers.
    • Maintain Training Center classrooms, equipment, and work area to world class standard.
    • Complete Service records, contact reports, lab reports and other administrative documentation in a timely manner.
    • Travel to customer locations on short notice and outside of normal business hours for periods of greater than one week.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to create training applications for presentations.
    • Ability to present training in person and online.
    • Ability to train, lead, & direct effectively in a team environment.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Flow product lines preferred.
    • Demonstrated verbal presentation skills paired with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability for creative thinking.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • High level of analytical skills and the ability to solve technical problems with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high stress environment.
    • Familiarity with multi-media devices including but not limited to PowerPoint, Camtasia 7, Zoom, video recording equipment and cameras.

    Education and/or Training:

    • High school diploma, or equivalent; minimum two (2) years of technical training or engineering degree preferred.
    • Two -four years of experience with waterjet cutting and / or customer demonstration of technical equipment preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a training environment with development and delivery of training material to user groups
    • Familiar with computers utilizing Windows based programs and MS Office – PowerPoint and Word essential.
    • Basic knowledge of CNC programming of common controllers, CAD, & CAM.
    • Waterjet operation experience preferred.
