At TranSystems, we have established and continue to nurture a culture that is committed to providing quality services for our clients. We’re looking for top talent to grow with our firm.
What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems places a high value on a client-centric approach, recognizing that every individual in the company contributes significantly to client service. The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) is a pivotal role in our growth strategy across California, spearheading efforts in transportation sectors: Federal, Government, Freight, Ports, Transit, and Aviation. The BDC will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies to foster relationships and implement tactics at each stage of the proposal and business development process, including hands-on proposal writing and development.
While our ideal candidate will bring transportation experience in the A/E/C or A/E/P industry with unique expertise and knowledge of the California market, we're looking for someone with a strategic, collaborative, can-do attitude. In addition, this person has a special knack for creativity and storytelling, strategy, and relationship development, and developing effective strategies to build our presence in the California marketplace.
This role requires a significant amount of self-direction and forward-thinking. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Your Role and Impact
You'll work with marketing, business development, client service team members, and subject matter experts to execute business development and marketing strategies for targeted opportunities and clients throughout California. These activities include supporting or leading major company pursuits, proposals, and shortlist interview presentations, client strategy and action planning, marketing and business development initiatives, and database management.
All qualified candidates must provide work samples and be asked to participate in proficiency screenings, such as writing, editing, proofing, and presentation creativity.
Major Company Pursuits (MCPs), Proposals, and Presentations | Pursuit Strategy and Production
You'll prepare strategic, client-focused proposals and presentations and statement of qualification responses, coach shortlist interview teams, and support the development of marketing and pre-positioning efforts. In addition, you'll be responsible for facilitating pursuit strategy meetings, coordinating deliverables with teaming partners, and creating a winning strategy to ensure the preparation and delivery of high-quality, creative, and compliant proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
You'll brainstorm and strategize with pursuit teams to understand what the client decision-makers need and value. Part of your role will be to develop insights on how our proposals can be more successful systematically. You'll provide constructive feedback, push ideas further, and debrief proposal outcomes with pursuit teams, gaining insight into what we did well and where we could do better.
Major Company Pursuits. In addition to leading pursuits for clients you’re assigned to, you'll be responsible for supporting MCPs with pursuit capture plans, documenting meeting notes from pursuit strategy meetings, and graphically demonstrating our win themes in our proposals. In this role, you’ll provide layout design and high-quality graphics to ensure we demonstrate a professional high-quality response to our client. You’ll also ensure that our submittals compliant and meet the Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
Client Service Teams | Client Strategy and Action Planning
Working closely with our California Client Service Teams and Regional and National Leadership, you'll facilitate client strategy meetings to help us achieve client-specific goals and grow our position in the California marketplace. In addition, you'll work to identify trends, client behavior, and opportunities and gather competitor and marketplace intelligence to develop actionable plans to build and strengthen client relationships. This is not a client facing position.
Marketing Information System Management (MIS) | Qualifications, Pipeline, Wins and Sales
A fundamental responsibility within the BDC role is sales forecasting. Sales forecasting assists with tracking toward the client, area, regional, and market sector sales goals. You'll be responsible for maintaining an accurate record of our pipeline and project data in our MIS System, Deltek Vision. Another important responsibility is capturing high-end descriptions of projects and maintaining up-to-date and current resumes for project teams in Deltek Vision.
