SummaryThe Grants Administrator secures funding opportunities for county operations and initiatives by partnering with key stakeholders, submitting competitive and non-competitive grant applications, and monitoring for outcomes. The Grants Administrator is responsible for facilitating the grant life cycle; pre-award, award, and post-award.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
- Research and identify, apply for, administer, coordinate and monitor federal, state, local, and private grants in accordance with applicable standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Provides timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements and procedures; collaborate in defining and implementing project funding strategies.
- Coordinates and assists departments in preparation of requests for proposals and contracts relative to grants, in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Develops and implements systems for monitoring the effectiveness and impact of grant-funded programs and projects. Collect and analyze data to evaluate program outcomes and inform future grant applications.
- Maintains accurate and detailed grant source and tracking information.
- Assists with grant budgeting tasks and monitoring, including revenue and expenditure estimates.
- Assists with auditing, monitoring and scheduling of grant reports for various departments.
- Submits monthly and quarterly reports to the fiscal court and external agencies when appropriate.
- Stays informed about grant funding trends, policies, and best practices.
- Proactively and creatively seeks out grant funding opportunities, taking into consideration fit-gap analysis.
- Serve as liaison between the County and outside funding agencies and groups; provide assistance in resolving issues and conflicts with funding agencies; participate in meetings and discussion in which decisions affecting County projects are made.
- Performs other duties as necessary and as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, communications/marketing, or a related field, and;
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in grant writing, project management, research, fundraising, budgeting, quality control, preferably in a governmental or nonprofit setting.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to satisfy the minimum requirements.
- Knowledge of local government operations and services is preferred
- Grant writing certification or grant writing professional training is a plus.

- Initiative; ability to do what is expected and seek out opportunities with limited supervision.

- Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include late working hours or weekend hours.
Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of office software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
