GRADD is seeking a motivated and dedicated Youth Coordinator to join our team. The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing programs and activities aimed at engaging and supporting young people in the counties of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster. The ideal candidate must have a passion for working with youth, strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with various community partners. After the probationary period, this position offers the option for Telework.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Program Development: Design and develop programs, activities, and events that cater to the interests and needs of youth participants between the ages of 16 and 24.
2. Community Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, youth organizations, employers and community groups to promote youth programs and encourage participation.
3. Youth/Employer Outreach: Actively engage with young people and employers to understand their needs, interests, and challenges, and incorporate their feedback into program planning and development.
4. Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and mentors to assist with youth programs and activities as needed.
5. Coordination: Coordinate logistics for youth programs, including scheduling, resource allocation and maintaining the Green River Youth Council.
6. Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth programs and activities, collect feedback from participants and employers and prepare reports for the Green River Workforce Development Board.
7. Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and interests of young people within the Green River Area Development District.
8. Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during youth activities and respond appropriately to any emergencies or incidents.
9. Professional Development: Stay informed about current trends and best practices in youth development and attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.
10. Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services within the system of record.
