Job Description

The Ambulatory Services and Programs Director oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Being an Ambulatory Services and Programs Director maintains working relationships with community agencies. Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. In addition, Ambulatory Services and Programs Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services and Programs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
