The College Academic Advising Director works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Being a College Academic Advising Director analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. In addition, College Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The College Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as a College Academic Advising Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
