Being a Diesel Engine Specialist II replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. In addition, Diesel Engine Specialist II maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Diesel Engine Specialist II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Diesel Engine Specialist II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
