The Global Sales Manager designs and recommends sales and marketing programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Manages and directs a sales force to achieve global sales and profit goals. Being a Global Sales Manager requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Must be aware of international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales. In addition, Global Sales Manager typically reports to top management. The Global Sales Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
