Job Description
The Health Information Transcriptionist understands medical terminology and the use of transcription software and equipment. Transcribes medical dictation by physicians and other medical practitioners pertaining to patients assessment, diagnostics, therapy, and other medical reports. Being a Health Information Transcriptionist typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Requires a high school diploma. In addition, Health Information Transcriptionist may require Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS). Being a Health Information Transcriptionist gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
