The Operational Risk management Director creates and modifies policies to comply with safety legislation and industry practices. Develops and administers risk management programs. Being an Operational Risk management Director acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals. Coordinates and develops organization-wide programs for risk-free services. In addition, Operational Risk management Director investigates any incidences that may result in an asset loss. May hold designations such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Knowledge about legal issues around organization liability and insurance trends. Promotes organization-wide understanding about risks and risk management strategies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Operational Risk management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
