The Retail Merchandising Manager utilizes customer insights, consumer trends, buying patterns, sales and inventory metrics, forecasting, and competitive landscape to partner across functions like finance, buying, and marketing to develop effective plans. Manages merchandising operations, develops and executes merchandising plans that will deliver volume and profit goals. Being a Retail Merchandising Manager trains and coaches merchandising staff to ensure that the product assortment reflects branding, seasonal, and customer demand. Identifies new suppliers and products that reflect consumer preferences and drive sales. In addition, Retail Merchandising Manager requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field. Typically reports to top management. The Retail Merchandising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Retail Merchandising Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
