The User Documentation Specialist I produces foundational manuals, release notes, user documentation, and online instructional content. Develops, prepares, and maintains functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Being a User Documentation Specialist I researches, reviews, and collects all related technical information to be reflected in the documentation. Documents enhancements or changes to a product or process using a standardized style and structure. In addition, User Documentation Specialist I uses a variety of editing, content management, diagramming, screen capture, and other documentation tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a User Documentation Specialist I work is closely managed.
