Accounts Payable Clerk prepares and processes payments accurately and on time for amounts owed by the company. Reviews and verifies all purchase orders, statements, and invoices needed to prepare payments. Being an Accounts Payable Clerk reconciles bills and balances accounts. Identifies and resolves any discrepancies to an account. Additionally, Accounts Payable Clerk tracks all payment and transaction records using applicable systems. May maintain vendor files. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to Account Supervisor or Account Manager. The Accounts Payable Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
