Job Description

Refinery Operator II controls equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Responsibilities include monitoring pressure and flow and reading gauges and adjusting valves as needed. Being a Refinery Operator II may be responsible for identifying and correcting problems in the refinery process. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Refinery Operator II may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty in the field. May lead or direct the work of others. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. To be a Refinery Operator II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
