About the Role:

As a Graphic Designer with the Brand and Marketing Communications department you will create visual communication to  inspire, inform and engage our customers.  You will work closely with the content team to transform messaging into a broad range of formats including trade show booths, brochures, emails, banners, web pages and more. Experience collaborating with marketing teams and incorporating industry best practices into department brand standards will be key to excel in this role.  Individuals applying for this position must be self-starters, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the prior work experience needed to immediately contribute to the organization.

What you will be doing:

• Build and maintain consistent brand image through creative conceptualization, design, layout, illustration and photography for a variety of deliverables. This work is done independently as well as in conjunction with other designers, and marketing team members to transition to vendors, developers, and marketing systems.
• Utilize typography, color theory, UI/UX design and layout principles including hierarchy and organization of elements for print and digital layouts and infographics.
• Be a champion of brand guidelines and forward the development and implementation of branded templates and assets.
• Design custom illustrations including icons, logos, figures and other graphics.
• Exhibit a strong design point-of-view and effectively communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale.
• Assist in print production and oversee outside vendors in final production, if needed. Manage and prepare files for print, review printer proofs and press approvals before release.
• Art direct and/or shoot necessary photography. Build library of scientific and data images.
• Manage, maintain and archive graphic files using digital asset management system.
• Provide guidance and solutions on brand compliance issues.
• Collaborate and guide regional marketing teams to develop local materials.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing or communications.
• 7 to 10 years’ experience in graphic design role.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Healthcare, Pharma, Biotech or technology industry preferred.
• Strong fundamental design skills, including knowledge of typography, composition, and color.
• Experience creating illustrations.
• Experienced with PowerPoint desired and adept at learning new programs and leveraging their strengths.
• Passion for working with scientific content and minding the finest details to create flawless work.
• Confident in knowledge of industry standard printing practices and digital optimization.
• Organized and able to balance day-to-day tasks with special projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Able to establish good working relationships and communication across teams with a variety of personalities.
• Able to balance initiative with good judgment, collaborate with others to achieve results, taking pride in the product you create.

Nice to have skills & background:

• Healthcare, Pharma, Biotech or technology industry preferred.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud and knowledge of GSuite, Atlassian/Confluence and Internet proficiencies are preferred.
