Position Summary

  • Floor supervisor manages the front-end operations, such as rentals and repairs, delegating, and managing tasks to front-end employees throughout the day, managing inventory, ensuring all products are correct from ordering to repairing/renting and meeting manufacturer and customer specifications.  Ensuring each customer or patron has an excellent customer service experience.  Leadership role and managerial responsibilities, such as delegating work, and managing employees.  Assist manger with daily and/or weekly meetings and with leading staff/department.

 

Essential Responsibilities, includes but are not limited to

  • Assist manager on keeping department informed of new products, and product updates such as firmware and software updates.  Assisting manager with developing and maintaining a constant knowledge of company products and services.
  • Assist manager with communicating with Technicians on daily tasks such as orders, weekly field jobs, and current lead times on all repairs.  Coordinate with department Technicians on a daily basis to be on task with day-to-day operations of the department.   Leading and knowing how to delegate tasks, but have no problem jumping in when the team is understaffed or behind.  As a leader, helps the department as needed with any repairs and calibrations of gas detectors to get caught up on all repairs and reduced the lead time.
  • Oversee inventory.  Develop a system that all department must use.  Accurate inventory is a must.  Assist manager with communications with department, regarding rental and new inventory that can be shared between each district.
  • Assist manager with setting up customer support on gas detection products our company distributes. This includes setting up customer training on how to properly use each device.   Assist manager with keeping department staff notified with factory training seminars or classes. This includes keeping all departments informed of all upcoming trainings to ensure all technicians are certified and competent on working on all brands of gas detection.  Maintain a strong relationship with manufacturers to ensure we are in compliance with their repair procedures and warranty policies.
  • Floor supervisor monitors and even spot checks the quotes to ensure billing is correct and the output matches the order.  The floor supervisor has to take an interest in what is being produced and how long it takes for each. Manage the team to where there is minimal down-time.  Floor supervisor is responsible for making sure all of the staff does what is required of them.
  • Floor supervisor collaborates with the manager during the hiring process and train new hires. They also delegate basic tasks on an as-needed basis.  Establishing a good rapport with customers and team.  Instills the culture of expectations and assist the team in accomplishing set expectations.  Assist manager with developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Routinely inspect areas for cleanliness.
  • Create Key Point Indicators (KPI’s) and monitor.  Keeping track of successes and missed opportunities.  Floor Supervisor must perform root cause analysis on issues that arise.
  • Assist manager with overseeing and tracking Deer Park field technicians via Fleet Matics to ensure they are on schedule and completing projects/work in a timely, efficient and effective manner.  Assist manger to maintain and account for department vehicle, employees, vehicles, onsite projects, etc. at all times.
  • Complies with company and department policies and procedures.  Assist manager to ensure staff is trained and reviewed the department SOP’s.  Train and guide employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 or 4 year college degree required in Electronics field or similar field
  • 4 plus years supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior Navision system experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and employee population in a professional manner.
  • Proven leadership capability and strong knowledge of 24Hr Safety processes and procedures.
  • Experience in dealing and defusing the unexpected.
  • Think well on feet and can make quick decisions.
  • Require an eye for detail.
  • Computer skills a must (word, excel, pp)

 

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While in this position, this individual may be required in the assistance of lifting, rolling, carrying, kneeling, standing, and reaching.  Must be able to life and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to distinguish between colors as well.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full time position.  Employee must be willing to work overtime as needed to help the department.  Be on Call and on rotation. 

 

Travel

  • As needed and approved by District or Regional Operation Mangers.
