Position Summary

This Warehouse Supervisor position contributes to the success of the company by supervising the day-to-day warehouse operations. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit. Coordinates the receiving, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse by supporting the front-line staff.  Supports the manager in receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. Oversees the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of products. Ensures productivity targets are achieved and all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. Will ensure the highest level of service possible to Company’s internal and external customers.  Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas.

 

Essential Responsibilities, includes but are not limited to

  • Supervise the receiving and delivery of products in a timely manner.  Oversee inbound/outbound shipments, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.  Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
  • Utilize warehouse layout, and route truck loading patterns that minimize loading time.  Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization. 
  • Ensure the optimal inventory levels of goods are maintained in order to fulfill daily needs.  Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.  Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy.  Maintain the inventory system to aid in production scheduling.  Supervise stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
  • Provide timely service to departments; confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Deliver effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact.  Lead a team-based approach to decision making and ability to give and receive constructive feedback.  Ability to appropriately delegate work duties and manage and motivate staff to achieve plan goals.   Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance
  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term goals.  Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues.
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, coaching, and communication for front-line hourly personnel.  Communicate job expectations.  Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
  • Maintain all housekeeping and safety standards; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.  Maintain standards of health, hygiene, security and safety.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.  Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems.  Identify areas of improvement and establish change processes. 
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
  • Support the management team in adhering in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
  • Building maintenance which include A/C, Lawn care, Lights Bulbs, communicating with the cleaning crew etc.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in warehouse or operations management, or similar field.
  • 5-7 years’ previous warehouse management/supervisory experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated front-line supervisory, planning and organization skills
  • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, work under time pressures, and meet deadlines
  • Possess strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience with inventory control
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred
  • Microsoft Suite including Excel comprehension preferred

  • The employee will be exposed to frequent temperature changes; cold, hot, snow, rain, etc.
  • This role requires regular presence on the warehouse floor
  • This role may operate forklift and manufacturing equipment occasionally
  • This role may require off-shift, on-call and weekend work
