Responsible for the coordination, implementation and execution of the Direct Labor onboarding training system; including and innovation of training programs to support manufacturing and peripheral groups. Responsible for coordinating the ongoing and recurring training of manufacturing process trainers.
Works with cross functional teams if needed to understand and establish training needs and tools based on current need
Delivering group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and corporate processes per outlined process
Conduct orientation training sessions to assess level of skill and knowledge possessed and obtained by new hires
Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes
Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness in system tools
Organize and develop training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
Strong ability to speak/present to groups of employees, speak interpersonally with individuals, report to management and meet with vendors.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Provide feedback to program participants and management
Maintain employee training records through electronic sytem
Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives
Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen
Select and assign instructors to conduct training
Organize and direct implementation of training curriculum(s), using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures
Coordinating administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs
Qualifications
High school diploma required
5+ years of Manufacturing experience (preferred but not required)
Strong computer skills desired in MS Office Suite, SAP, and LMS
Ability to effectively work and communicate with others
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have good communication skills
Must have the ability to read and interpret written documentation
Ability to train others
Prefer pervious lead/trainer experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, assembly, production technical skills, and quality practices would be helpful
Able to work in a flexible team and under minimum supervisor
Understands the need to be a critical thinker and deadline oriented
Self-management of time
