This position requires a motivated self-starter who can effectively address technical needs and problems of end users in a professional, caring and understanding manner. We prefer someone who plans on being a long term member of our team. 

Typical duties

• Support of computer equipment and software, including 24-hour on-call support of critical systems;
• maintains local area networks (wired and wireless);
• installs and maintains PC systems (including application software and hardware);
• trains employees in the use of hardware and software;
• evaluates and recommends microcomputer software packages and hardware systems to management;
• provides assistance and technical support to users of personal computers related to software, components, and peripherals;
• performs minor in-house repairs on PCs & servers or coordinates with vendor for major malfunctions;
• works with fellow staff to address technical problems and service users;
• work in conjunction with other team members to implement and manage current systems; and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Must have experience in the following:

• Troubleshooting PC hardware/software and peripherals
• User support
• Desktop administration
• Network administration
• Windows server administration
• Starting and/or restarting services
• Working with the systems administrator or contractors to update/upgrade servers
• Maintaining/ installing computer hardware
• General administration
• Basic networking and troubleshooting of both wired and wireless based systems.
• Troubleshoot problems back to the network connection on the switch
• Configuring settings and troubleshoot end user connectivity issues
• Providing support for Windows Terminal Services/RDP
• Providing support for VMware virtual systems hosting servers and clients
• Windows Group Policy and Active Directory Management
• Microsoft Office 365
• Autodesk AEC Collection and PDM Collection
• PowerShell scripting and general programming

Required education:

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or technical school with a major in computer science, network administration, A , information systems management or related field
• 5 years of technical support experience.
