ACCO BRANDS CORP Clip Operator Salary in the United States

ACCO Brands, one of the world’s largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2.0 billion, is seeking a Paper Clip Machine Operator to join our Booneville, MS manufacturing team.

This position produces quality paper clips on production line and operates related machinery.  

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Loads and operates clip or sealing machines
• Feeds wire into clip machines, makes adjustments to machine and tooling
• Responsible for replacing tooling and lubricating of wire clip machines
• Feeds box machine
• Inspects clips on a continuous basis to insure quality
• Oversees related components of conveyor and box closing equipment
• Clears jam-ups on clip line from box maker thru box closer
• Assists packer clear jam-ups in sealing machine
• Checks for all the proper packaging on clip boxes, inserts, bar code labels and cartons
• Inspects at intervals for proper product numbers on all packaging
• Maintains all checks and inspection sheets as required
• Must work in a team environment with clip line operators and packers to insure a continuous non-stop operation of the clip line
• Interacts with supervisor, lead personnel and peers in Clip Cell department
• Takes a pro-active role in safety, quality, housekeeping and production
• Pack finished product into cartons 
• Help oversee conveyor system of clip line 
• Clear jam-ups in merge conveyor, box closer and sealing machine 
• Hand pack clips from spillage and repack damaged boxes
• Checks for all the proper packaging - boxes, inserts, bar code labels, cartons.  Inspects at intervals for product numbers on all packaging
• Replenish rolls of film and bar code labels on machine 
• Must work with line operator as a team to insure a continuous non-stop operation of clip line

Skills and Abilities

• One plus year machine operating experience required.
• Experience handling pliers, carton tapers and magnets.

• Mechanical aptitude, machine operating experience and micrometer reading one plus year required. 

• Must have a high school diploma or GED. 
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple English instructions, written correspondence and memos and have the ability to writ simple correspondence to include reports of production.
• Possess basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. 
• Must be able to load raw materials, and use a chain hoist, tape measure, hand tools, shear, knives, heat shoe, bar sealer, razor blades and chopper and to perform the job functions safely.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and to stand, stoop, bend, reach.

Education and/or Experience                  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or three or more months related experience and/or training
