The HR Generalist will be responsible for delivering day to day HR operational support services to the Kettering, Ohio location. This position will work closely with the HR staff on strategic HR initiatives to optimize people, structure, process and culture, with the goal of achieving best business results.  Relocation is not available for this position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continuously improve efficiency of department and services provided.
  • Acts as point of primary Site Safety Representative and point of contact for employee questions or issues concerning HR policies, programs, communications and benefits.
  • Own the coordination and recruitment for the Annual Internship Program in collaboration with managers and the broader HR team.
  • Manages Workers Compensation claims and eave Administration for the site
  • Plan monthly community public relations programs designed to increase employer brand for ACCO Brands.
  • Provides analytical support by delivering accurate and timely data and analysis on a variety of projects, reports and metrics. 
  • Assists with performance measurement and feedback systems that improve the contribution of individuals and teams with respect to business performance.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition department to attract and hire top candidates to fill current openings as quickly as possible.  Coordinate temporary staffing needs of the company.
  • Manage pre-employment activities and conduct orientation of new employees.
  • Support a culture of employee recognition through the service award program, ACCOlades Program and other planned events.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a "lead" or first-level supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent relevant experience is required. 
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of Human Resources related experience.
  • Experience with Leave Administration and Workers Compensation administration and tracking.
  • Must be able to handle complex issues and problems and escalate when needed.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service orientation, with exceptional follow up and follow through.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and prioritization skills and be able to effectively manage interactions with key stakeholders.
  • Previous experience with an HRIS is preferred.
