Position Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking a Transportation Systems & Analysis Manager based in our Lake Zurich, Illinois headquarters.  This position is responsible for providing multi-faceted support within the Transportation department. The individual will be the subject matter expert on data elements such as Sales order, shipment’s, invoicing, material master & financial postings. Along with knowing the interpretations of the data, they will have to have advance knowledge of the functional details & integration of the backend tables (SE16) within SAP ECC, TM, BW, etc. Based on this knowledge they will build and maintain large databases of data which will be used to conduct, monthly reports for operational & financial analysis, model different what-if scenarios to answer executive leadership questions as well as look for cost savings opportunities on a freight spend greater than $40 million.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Function as a superuser for ACCO’s SAP TM (TMS) and liaison with IT to communicate business requirements.
• Use data mining tools such an Alteryx to Extract, Transform, and Load Transportation data into cloud-based servers and report on this data in a way that is useful for Transportation and Supply Chain leadership decision making, using a data visualization tool like Tableau.
• Perform Network Optimization studies using LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru X, to conduct greenfield/center of gravity studies, as well as apply constraints to the model to arrive at the optimal solution for the ACCO transportation and distribution network. 
• Drive the analysis and modeling of data in order to identify gaps between current business operations and the TMS capabilities such as multi-stop truckloads, omnichannel distribution, etc.
• Document methodology, assumptions & business scenarios used in the network modeling.
• Provide business knowledge to support effective utilization, modeling, and implementation of optimization strategies.
• Support annual carrier RFQ process for full truckload, less than truckload, air freight forwarder and ocean carriers, by evaluating the rates submitted by the service providers compared to current rates, preparing counter offer rates, quantifying savings or cost increase.
• Subject matter expert in parcel rates and accessorial charges.
• Support the loading and management of all carrier rates, ensuring complete coverage and accuracy in TMS systems.
• Validate Strategic Analysis’ database structures to ensure the data ties out to the General Ledger and the Freight P&L.
• Provide monthly insight for (un)favorability between actual freight rate (freight to sales) vs forecast, budget, and prior year freight rate.
• Work closely with the finance team to build an annual freight budget model as well as ongoing forecast models.
• Oversee the month-end transportation accrual process ensuring that Finance received the information necessary to accurately close the books.
• Develop TMS related metrics and reporting (KPI’s, financial reports, dashboards, etc.).

Requirements

• 4+ years college degree & Master of Science in Industrial Engineering required.
• 3+ years of working experience within the Supply Chain – Transportation, with an SAP ERP platform.
• Advance working knowledge in Visual Basics & Python required.
• Advance background in using Alteryx & Tableau.
• Strong work experience with mathematical computation along with mathematical programming applied to transportation rout problem solving using Gurobi and Cplex based solvers required.
• Advanced user of LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru X: using Network Optimization, Inventory Optimization, Enterprise Simulation, and Transportation Optimization Modules, as well as expression constraints and step cost functions.
• Strong understanding of Less than Truckload rating structure (using SMC3 BatchMark XL)
• Advance user of Microsoft Excel, VBA & Access required.
• Successful experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change.
• Exposure to Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Sequel Server concepts required.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency while working on projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven ability to present effectively to senior leadership.
• Ability to self-motivate and thrive in fast paced culture with minimal direction and limited resources.
