What does a Threader Machine Operator - 1st Shift - $24/Hour do at companies like ACME MANUFACTURING COMPANY INC.?
Job Summary:
This experienced machine setup operator is responsible to set-up, load and operate in excess of 3 of combination of roll-threading Landis, Tesker, and Kenifac machines at the same time.
Perform quality checks on bar stock and studs loaded into the machine as well as exiting manufactured products.
The setup operator will assist in training machine operators and trouble-shooting various machine issues.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Verify the material is the right type and within specifications to produce a quality product.
- Perform initial material quality checks prior to loading the threading machines.
- Load and monitor threading machines to ensure quality products are produced with minimal unplanned stops.
- Perform set-up duties for Landis, Tesker, & Kenifac threaders; includes product changes, dimensions changes, die set ups, die changes.
- Perform process control checks; includes first inspection of threaded rod; verify manufactured pieces meet quality specifications.
- Complete the quality inspection checklist at each machine.
- Record with extreme accuracy the production information for all finished products; account for all scrap produced.
- Operate mobile computer equipment to monitor and track production and inventory control activities.
- Inform Quality Manager / Supervisor of any nonconforming issues.
- Initiate trouble shooting investigations for quality and machine issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform additional duties as requested or required.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment requires standing most of the time.
- Working near moving parts and covered pinch points.
- Potential exposure to airborne particles: requires safety glasses.
- Minimal chance of exposure to hazardous chemicals: requires safety gloves when handling chemicals.
- Majority of lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional push/pull up to 100 pounds assisted.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training. Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Experience:
2 years manufacturing experience. Participation in troubleshooting, problem solving, and other methods of identifying and resolving problems.
Skills:
Math skills: able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must work with metric and imperial numbers. Use test equipment to measure products by utilizing tape measures, micrometers and other quality measuring devices. Ability to learn machine operations. Good communicator: ability to communicate information.
Licenses/ Certificates:
Forklift Operator training will be provided; certificate is awarded to operate equipment and handle materials.
Trained and qualified as an Authorized Lock Out Tag Out Operator.
