ARDMORE RODERICK Designer II Salary in the United States

Ardmore Roderick is a full-service civil engineering firm providing infrastructure design, construction services and program management to a variety of agencies.  Headquartered in Chicago, we also have offices in Champaign, IL, Orlando, FL, Philadelphia, PA.

Ardmore Roderick is seeking a “Designer II” in Orlando, Florida.

The Designer II position is responsible for general support of the design and engineering services related to the engineering and construction departments.  This position is responsible for the creation of design drawings and details utilizing AutoCAD and/or Microstation platforms.  Should be experienced in facilities & commercial tenant improvements, civil & site development, and renovations and new construction.

General Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Generate detailed baseline and design drawings/details in coordination with design architects and engineers.
• Knowledgeable of recent building codes, specifically Florida Building Code and NFPA.
• Conduct quality reviews of overall design packages for clarity of presentation and work with the design architects and engineers to address quality issues
• Develop specifications of materials and provide estimates of quantities needed for a project.
• Provides guidance to junior designers/drafters and subconsultants.
• Requires an understanding of design/drafting principles for multiple engineering disciplines including Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil
• Adhere to established CADD standards. Suggest refinements and changes as necessary to meet intent of the program.
• Create Construction Documents utilizing Microstation V8i and/or AutoCAD software.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher, preferably in technical training involving CADD-based design.
• At least 5-10 years of progressive experience or demonstrated equivalent accomplishment.
