ARDMORE RODERICK Drafter – Substation Wiring/Physical Design Salary in the United States

Ardmore Roderick is seeking a drafter to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will begin as a member of a project team comprised of staff from multiple engineering firms.  The position is located at the Wilmington, Delaware office of a strategic partner.  After successful completion of tasks performed at the Wilmington location, there will be opportunity to perform as a team member at our King of Prussia Office.

As a drafter you are required to apply computer-aided drafting skills, assist in creating master sketches showing the scaled relation, with exact specifications and dimensions, of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions, accompany and support experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for design projects, and to interface with vendors and construction contractors.  With time, training and successful acquisition of learned skills drafters will have the opportunity to advance to designer positions.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

• Drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
  • MicroStation Preferred
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Ability to multi-task from project to project

Other valued qualifications include:        

• An associate degree in Computer Aided Design
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
