CONSTRUCTION FORMS General Laborer - 2nd Shift Salary in the United States

Hose is critical at the point of placement for our customers to control the flow and location of the concrete being pumped.  General Laborers in the Hose Department perform repetitive operations including cutting and crimping of hose assemblies as specified in a job order.  General Laborers setup and operate hydraulic crimping machines and powered band saws including checking grease points and fluid levels at regular intervals.  The General Laborer is responsible for recognizing and reporting deficiencies, inspecting and testing assemblies, and removing scrap from the work area at regular intervals.  Attention to detail, problem solving, adaptability and a strong work ethic are essential in our fast paced environment.

GENERAL LABORER QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more of assembly and/or general labor experience preferred.
• Prior experience operating forklifts, jib cranes and overhead cranes preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform precise measurements using a tape measure.
• Basic computer skills required to accurately gather and input data from computer systems and record job transactions.
• Capability to lift 70 lbs with regularity and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

GENERAL LABORER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates all equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits. Maintain a safe and clean working environment including complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Follows specifications or procedures for set-up and machine operation using blueprints, instructions and machine knowledge.
• Obtains jobs and materials utilizing the Dispatch List and a forklift.
• Cuts appropriate hose material to length using a knife or powered bandsaw.
• Loads proper hose and end materials into machinery utilizing cranes when necessary.
• Watches gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machinery is working properly. Notifies a supervisor promptly in the event a machine is not properly working.
• Conducts tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality and tolerance.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
• Accurately clock job transactions into ERP software.
• Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary.
