Dewberry Architects is a nationally recognized architectural, engineering and consulting firm with an immediate opening for an Architectural Practice Business Development Leader in our Atlanta, GA office. The successful candidate will provide leadership in Dewberry’s National Public Safety Practice at the regional level as part of their Justice Architecture Group. This position requires a minimum of 12 years’ experience including current Justice project experience.  Additional experience in other practice areas is also desired.

 

Dewberry Architects’ national presence has allowed the firm to serve a wide variety of clients throughout the country. Services range from feasibility studies to construction administration. This position will primarily service the south and southeastern US.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the National Justice Practice (Courts, Corrections/Detention, and Public Safety)
    • Assist with business development and project procurement.
    • Assist with Client education and maintenance.
    • Develop presentations and papers of interest to potential clients and participate in information/outreach initiatives.
  • Identify new project opportunities and provide key leadership in procuring regional work
    • Actively participate with local/regional professional and community focused organizations to grow relationships and inform/educate potential clients towards the Architectural Practice of Dewberry
    • Provide ongoing regional client contact and representation in conjunction with Dewberry Federal Initiatives
    • Facilitate and maintain regular face-to-face communication with key individuals in the Region IV - GSA Southeast Sunbelt Region.
    • Facilitate regular communication with Federal agencies that are Region IV based (e.g. Department of Interior, DHS, etc.)
  • Collaborate/communicate regularly with regional Dewberry engineering disciplines to leverage project and service opportunities
  • Assist with design and production of projects within the Southeast region
    • Use experience and best practice knowledge to effectively form project teams, establish and maintain close relationship with client(s), provide design and technical oversight, maintain project schedules and project profit goals, and produce high quality design and technical documents.
  • Establish, maintain and grow an Atlanta Architectural Practice office.
    • Assist with identification and recruitment of highly qualified staff
    • In conjunction with Dewberry processes and procedure, provide supervision along with career and professional mentoring of staff
    • Organize office staff and project teams to meet and exceed established goals

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree.
    • Registration in states that Dewberry Architects pursues work and/or ability for reciprocity.  
    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the A/E industry. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
