Job Summary:

The Receptionist is a service oriented role as the face of the Finish Line / JD US Customer Central corporate office responsible for fielding all incoming calls, greeting guests, and directing them to the appropriate parties by performing the following duties:

  • Opening and closing the front desk and delivering the morning paper to executive area.
  • Answering and directing all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Appropriately direct escalated called to correct points of contact.
  • Welcoming on-site guests in a positive and helpful manner.
  • Maintaining visitor registration logs.
  • Taking and delivering messages or transferring voicemails accordingly.
  • Issuing any necessary temporary door passes and/or elevator passes. 
  • Directing applicants to the right location or providing general information. 
  • Booking conference rooms as needed.
  • Contacting internal staff on meeting arrivals and food deliveries.
  • Directing vendors to their conference rooms.
  • Assisting guests and vendors with Wi-Fi setup. 
  • Assisting visitors with directions and transportation.
  • Ensuring the front lobby is kept clean and maintained in a safe manner.
  • Relaying messages via office intercom system.
  • Reporting on front office supplies and when orders are necessary.
  • Delivering daily newspapers to the executive area.
  • Opening service ticket requests for various situations.
  • Maintaining and updating procedures with appropriate new contacts or directions.
  • Sending requested office informational communications.
  • Communicating service issues with vending company or internal point of contact.
  • Maintaining corporate “lost & found”.
  • Alerting the office to emergency situations and reporting any safety concerns.
  • Contributing as part of a team and helping with various tasks as required.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent and 2 or more years related experience in a fast-paced Receptionist or office management role. Proficient in Google Suite or Microsoft Office equivalents, especially calendar and email.

Communication Skills:

This position requires the ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  The position also requires the ability write and type reports, emails, business correspondence, and procedure manuals as well as being able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

Decision Making/Problem Solving Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exits.  Ability to interpret and utilize a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form with little direction given.

Computer Skills:

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel and an email system.
