What does an Development and Alumni Engagement - Administrative Assistant do at companies like HOPE COLLEGE?

The administrative assistant for Development and Alumni Engagement is responsible for assisting the Major Gifts and Donor Relations & Annual Gifts teams and will report to the executive assistant to the vice president for Development and Alumni Engagement.
 
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • coordinating/scheduling development-oriented meetings/events/travel;
  • coordinating/assisting with international student and family events;
  • greeting and assisting internal and external guests including major donors;
  • being the point-person for incoming phone calls to the division;
  • managing student workers;
  • generating lists/reports;
  • customer relationship database management and research;
  • proofing/editing documents and mailers;
  • budget management and expense reimbursement assistance;
  • serving as a liaison to campus offices relating to development and annual giving;
  • fielding calls from the Development and Alumni Engagement main line;
  • acting as a back up to the executive assistant; and
  • assisting in general office responsibilities and projects as assigned.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • General office/assistant experience required. Working in a donor-centric environment a plus.
  • High level of accuracy in work including grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills required.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and phone skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google software.
  • Must be able to work independently while recognizing the importance of collaborating as a team.
  • Must be able to prioritize work and multi-task.
