Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Quality group is seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a technical career as an ATR Quality Inspector Technician (Quality Technician)! The Quality Technician will provide inspection support for the ATR Complex to ensure compliance with DOE(10CFR830 and DOE O 414.1D), INL, and customer specific requirements applicable to Quality Inspection. Additionally, the Quality Technician performs basic inspections, qualification specific inspections, perform radiographic certification specific and other (i.e., IRRSP/Radiography, Ultrasonic, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, visual, Mass Spec) inspections for nuclear and non-nuclear facility structures, systems, and components during various projects. Quality Technician provides assistance to the Quality Engineering (QE) staff during design and procedure reviews and the generation of inspection planning. As assigned, the QT performs as the quality program technical authority representative in Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) facilities and or supplier’s facilities, conducts oversight and surveillance of BEA processes and subcontracted services to verify compliance with laboratory quality assurance program procedures. Provide technical assistance to QE staff on application of inspection disciplines, techniques, and innovative concepts. As requested this position will perform Quality Inspections in support of all BEA organizations on the INL; including other facilities and programs requiring specific inspector qualifications. Minimum Requirements: - High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 6 years meaningful experience. - Experience performing non-destructive inspections of nuclear and/or non-nuclear power plants according to approved procedures and codes. - Current Level I certification in Volumetric technique(s). (RT and/or UT) - Current Level II surface examination technique certification. (PT/MT/VT) - Working knowledge in ASME Code. - Obtaining and maintaining a DOE L clearance. - Qualification as a Radiation Worker II. - Passing medical visual exam for inspector certification. - Recognized as an inspection technical authority and must display highly developed skills in various Nondestructive Examination (NDE) techniques. - Capable of using NDE techniques to solve complex inspection problems. - Display a working knowledge of inspection, piping, welding codes, and standards including ASME section III, B31.1. and B31.3. - Ability to work independently with various customers or crafts and interface in a lead role when performing assignments.
