Job Summary:

We are seeking Interns and New Grads to join our Finance Operations team in Chicago, IL and Austin, TX starting in Summer 2021. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties such as assisting with accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, and month end. By providing support across various functions in the Finance team, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of duties and responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Accounts payable and subcontractor Invoice and Reference Processing
• Investigate, follow-up and resolve invoice issues with project team, or vendors
• Produce, review, validate and clear open commitment reports
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Assists in preparing and reviewing month end accruals
• Prepares and enters journal entries in JD Edwards financial system
• Assists in preparing client billings
• Employee data management, time entry and weekly payroll
• Assists in preparing ad-hoc weekly and monthly reporting as needed

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Business Administration or Commerce program with concentration in Accounting/Finance
• Strong computer skills in MS Excel and Outlook
• Strong aptitude for learning computer systems including JD Edwards applications
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in working with large amounts of data
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Proven organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passionate about learning and contributing to a team
• Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service skills

Other Details:

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, role is work from home/remote and if office when required
• Available: Starting in Summer 2021
