SUMMARY: Admissions Support Specialist work independently overseeing the analysis and management data for Admissions, assisting with general office operations and providing accurate admissions information to potential, new and current students. The Admissions Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing the operations of inventory, scheduling visitor visits, training and working with student workers, including assisting in the hiring, training and supervision of the student workers and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere within the Office of Admissions by providing outstanding customer service in person, as well as over the phone.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have excellent communication, presentation and public relation skills, as well as the skills necessary to coach and train team members to reach department goals. Must be flexible, have a positive attitude and be willing to fully participate in a team “problem-solving” approach.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree preferred; with one to two years related experience and/or training. Must have a high level of language skills and a high level of math skills. Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Proficient in MS Office Word & Excel and a working knowledge of a customer service management system.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Must possess a valid driver’s license
Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel 20% of the time and work weekends occasionally.
