MEDIAOCEAN Billing Specialist Salary in the United States

What You Will Do: 

The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing sales orders, preparing customer invoices, as well as managing invoice related inquiries for our North American customers. This person will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting and work directly with the Accounting, Sales and Support teams.

Responsibilities will include:  

• Oversee billing and collection function for a portfolio of assigned accounts to ensure the timely and accurate processing of customer invoices and any adjustments
• Analyze and resolve billing issues to improve billing integrity
• Reviews contracts and amendments to understand contractual billing requirements and ensure invoices are in compliance with the contract terms
• Maintain and prepare various billing reconciliations
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycles
• Resolve outstanding customer balances, review aging, and make timely calls/emails with customers with delinquent balances
• Maintain and update department process documentation
• Provide audit support as needed, ensure that files are compliant with all company policies and procedures

Who You Are:   

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ideal candidates are team players, self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to establish good relationships with team members, and able to work quickly and concisely while under pressure
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to successfully deal with employee and customer questions to resolve issues
• Excellent time management skills; ability to meet critical deadlines, high level of accuracy and accountability
• Ability to work with complex issues and reconciliations
• Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, and actively seek out process efficiencies and improvements
• High knowledge of GAAP principles
