Job Summary:

Medinah Country Club is seeking an Assistant Tennis & Paddle Professional. This is a full-time position responsible for assisting all racquet programs, including lessons, organizing and leading clinics, managing the merchandise, organizing and leading Club teams in tournaments and competitions, hosting of events and exhibitions, continual development of our Junior Programs, court maintenance, and other similar duties expected of a professional at a world-class facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading and assisting the junior program including junior clinics, junior events, junior inter-clubs, and junior camps.
• Assisting in the operation and running of a first-class instructional program for all groups and all levels of players which would include beginner through advanced instruction.
• Promoting and growing the Club's tennis and paddle programs, increasing player abilities and increasing membership participation.
• Performing and assisting in the administrative tasks of running the professional shop, including: opening and closing of our racquet facilities, racquet stringing, the proper charging of member and guest's fees, the administration of court reservations and the enforcement of the club's rules and regulations governing the use of the club facilities, its equipment and property.
• Performing and assisting in the operations and maintenance programs of the Racquet Center department and facilities.
• Promoting and facilitating the hospitality, friendliness, and good-will among members and guests of the Club.
• Adhering to all property and department policies and procedures.
• Observing all safety and security procedures. Using equipment and material properly. Reporting potentially unsafe conditions.
• Assisting in the operation of special events related to Racquet Programs.
• Carrying out bylaws and policies as set by the Board of Directors.
• Continuing to acquire knowledge in the latest trends of racquet sports and member activities by reading trade publications, attending seminars and furthering education supported by the Club.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports, AGM, and GM.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have proven and progressive experience in leading and teaching tennis and paddle tennis. Candidate should be a USPTA or USPTR certified professional, preferably a USPTA Elite or PTR Professional, at least an NTRP 4.5 or higher playing ability and must have proven experience working with juniors and adults of all abilities.
• Candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of office computer operations and software platforms related to the industry.
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk for long periods of time. (Approximately 10-12 hours)
• Candidate must have command of English language written and spoken.
• Supervises Staff Tennis/Paddle Professionals
