Job Summary:
This position is responsible for safely packing, producing and maintaining high quality materials in a fast-paced environment efficiently and accurately.
Essential Job Duties:
- Accurately follow directions on batch ticket sheets
- Accurately and thoroughly record required information on batch sheets
- Pack chemical products from mixing pots into 55-gal drums, 5-gal pails, 1-gal pails and smaller containers
- Move pallets of drums/materials with forklift
- Maintain/use of raw materials inventory on a “first-in, first-out” basis
- Print product labels and properly label product containers
- Clean mixing pots
- Keep the production area neat and organized
- Put chemicals back on the rack after use
- Understand the hazards of chemicals through provided training and read SOPs, SDSs and labels
- Understand the general physical hazards of the plant and the proper safety procedures
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, safely glasses or goggles, respirators, aprons, coveralls) and follow safety procedures and rules
- Report safety concerns, near-miss or spills immediately to your supervisor, or EHS Director
- Follow all rules set forth in Polytek’s Employee Policy Manual
- Maintain a positive attitude

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Licensed forklift truck operator
- Talk, hear and vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Move full 55-gallon drums (600 lb)
- Repeatedly lift full 5-gal pails (50 lb) and 1 gal pails (8 lb)
- Repeatedly lift and dump 50-pound bags of material (chest height)
- Repeatedly ascend/descend short flights of stairs/ladders
- Bending, squatting, walking, and standing for full shift
- Wear an air-purifying respirator on an infrequent basis and possibly wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in the event of an emergency
Required Education and Experience:
- 0 – 3 years of industry and/or on the job training
- Minimun of a high-school education
- Valid drivers license and good driving record
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn them
- Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math
- Ability to work well with others
