Position Summary:
This position represents the restaurant with the highest levels of hospitality, professionalism and sanitation safety in a fine dining atmosphere, while also selling wine in a fine dining experience. A floor Sommelier must interact with restaurant guests, staff members, and management in a polite and hospitable manner. May be assigned tables or service section as direct tipped employee or provide wine service to guests as indirectly tipped employee. The position includes overseeing the guest wine experience in the restaurant while possessing a good sense of timing, salesmanship, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.

Position Requirements:
• Available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• 100% -- Walks and stands during entire shift.
• Must be able to frequently seize, grasp, and hold objects with hands.
• 75% - Reaches, bends and stoops frequently.
• Must be able to move, carry and lift at least 50 pounds with frequency throughout shift.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol according to all state and local regulations to serve alcohol.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
• Possess excellent communication skills with management, servers, team members and guests.
• Able to clearly and accurately communicate with guests and co-workers in English (including reading, writing, and speaking).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
• Knowledge of all menu items served at restaurant, as well as general knowledge of food, wine, and other beverages.
• Knowledge of standard and classic restaurant service procedures including wine service.
• Certified wine, beer and spirits knowledge and ongoing pursuit of wine education required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and sanitation skills according to Department of Health standards for hygiene and safe food handling.
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols issued by Center for Disease Control
• Previous experience in wine service required.
