What You’ll Be Doing:
As a key member of the Education Sales Team, the Account Executive (AE) will focus on selling TechSmith Relay and other TechSmith solutions to the US higher education market. The AE works closely with our Education Sales Team to help create awareness and drive sales and adoption of this technology to directly impact student learning and help higher education institutions reach their goals for active, blended and e-learning.
The AE will operate in an assigned sales region (Northern US) with a primary focus on driving new logo TechSmith Relay sales to meet individual and team goals. AEs also have overall account responsibility and will coordinate the efforts of the full Education Sales Team to ensure account management requirements are completed and renewal business is consistently achieved. While most sales activities will be remote, a certain amount of travel (up to 50%) to client and prospect sites, conferences and team events will be expected. This position can be remote or work out of the home office in Okemos, MI.
A successful AE will be experienced at solution selling, goal-oriented, self-motivated and able to function both independently and as part of a group. They must be positive, persuasive, organized, enthusiastic, comfortable working with senior-level decision-makers and passionate about higher education.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute territory plan to achieve personal and team goals
- Work with the Education Sales Team and customers to develop and communicate the TechSmith education solution value proposition and influence the development of required collateral, messaging, social media, videos, etc.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to cross-sell and upsell customers to increase TechSmith sales and product penetration within higher education customer accounts
- Attain assigned sales targets in designated education markets by identifying and closing new sales opportunities and subscription renewals
- Establish and manage key customer relationships with senior-level decision makers and influencers to gain strategic positioning within assigned accounts to maximize sales, references, etc.
- Maintain current understanding of relevant issues impacting higher education (state technology initiatives, grant recipients, etc.)
- Collaborate and communicate with other TechSmith teams (Marketing, Customer Success, Product Development, etc.) to ensure sales align with our overall education vision and goals
- Assist in the determination and execution of target trade shows and events
- Provide accurate and detailed forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities
- Effectively multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment and work constructively as part of the Education Sales Team and Team TechSmith
- Effectively utilize customer relationship management applications (Salesforce.com) to track opportunities and create campaigns
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-5 years proven/quantifiable sales experience; education technology and SaaS solutions is a plus
- Travel up to 50% may be required
- Strong business acumen with a demonstrated knowledge of identifying customer needs, purchasing processes and deal timing
- Proven aptitude for developing relationships with C-level and senior-level decision makers
- Great attitude, strong organizational skills and a self-starter
- Knowledge and experience with Salesforce.com or other CRMs
- Ability to demonstrate time management, prospecting skills, and knowledge of products (training provided)
- Ability to complete individual goals as well as work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate using technical concepts
- Energetic, driven and passionate about education
