We are looking for motivated, energetic salespeople to develop durable relationships with trade professionals as well as retail customers. The Design Center Sales Consultant will work with clients to select plumbing faucets and fixtures, as well as lighting and hardware.  Sales Consultants are responsible for providing expert product selection, technical assistance and conduct customer visits as needed. You will utilize your unique creative capabilities in combination with excellent customer service skills in order to assist clients with product selection. 

Main Responsibilities


  • Assist customers with product selection while providing excellent customer service
  • Manage and execute all stages of the sales process from opportunity to invoice to ensure proper follow-up, clean sales, minimal returns and customer satisfaction
  • Drive sales to meet and exceed sales goals set by company
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of product lines and stay current on changes/improvements of those
  • Conduct self in a professional environment
  • Identify and create new customers through building strong relationships with contractors, builders, retail customers etc.
  • Work closely and establish relationships with vendors to stay up to date with product updates and/or to follow up on order-related inquiries
  • Collaborate with other inside and outside sales colleagues to maximize sales growth
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming and organized showroom appearance which will enhance sales
  • Become proficient in the company’s order entry system and other computer programs to fulfill orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure compliance with all company and showroom policies and procedures

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have previous sales experience, a welcoming, customer-centric personality, and a genuine drive for reaching sales goals while developing yourself professionally.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years sales experience, preferably in the kitchen, bath & lighting or building materials industries
  • Strong sales aptitude, negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients
  • Previous experience working with trade professionals and/or retail customers preferred
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite of software with working knowledge of ERP systems, Eterm a plus
  • Experience in project management with the ability to manage client expectations and time effectively
  • Excellent critical thinking and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a wide variety of people
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate maturity in judgement, commitment and dependability
  • Must be self-motivated to achieve results both independently and through teamwork
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends
  • Background in a design or other creative environment a plus
