Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare standard month-end journal entries, accruals, perform account reconciliations and analyses in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Assist in sourcing HouseCalls membership/volumes
• Prepare monthly HouseCalls reporting and reconciliations
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Work closely with OGA staff accountant and provide business acumens coaching
• Work extensively with large excel files and data
• Work with UHC, Optum Care Delivery Organizations, External Clients, Finance, Business Operations, and Data teams on various financial reporting and analytic requirements
• Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 3 years of accounting experience
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookups)
• Demonstrated solid verbal and written communications skills
• Proven ability to successfully manage multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated drive and motivation to deliver high quality results based on thorough analysis
• Possesses sound business knowledge and solid decision-making skills
• Proven effective data analysis and interpretation skills
• Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Peoplesoft Financial System, Tableau and/or Access
• Experience with audit, process improvement and project management
• Work history working in the healthcare industry
