Job Description Job Description Full-Time Meat Department Employee Journeyman Meat Cutter Summary: Directly responsible for the Meat Department Head. Opens the store. Handles all department responsibilities in the absence the Meat Department Head. Assists the Meat Department Head in achieving the operational goals of the department. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Properly cut, trim, weigh, wrap, and stock a variety of fresh and packaged meat department products in a timely and efficient manner. 2. Assists in managing department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and orders meat/product as needed to satisfy customer demand and advertised sale needs – several times a week. 3. Assists implementation of pricing on new items while maintaining budgeted gross margins. 4. Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales. 5.
