What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hatchery Supervisor position at Aviagen?
We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill the position of Hatchery Supervisor. The selected individual will be trained in all aspects of the Quitman Hatchery operations and will be expected to fill in for any lead position or process throughout the hatchery. This position will report to the Hatchery Management.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
Ability to perform task with accuracy and efficiency in the highest regard to quality.
Must follow company protocols and provide inputs for continuous improvement to all processes.
Current driver’s license with a clean driving record
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department. Normal duties will include:
Responsible for supervising and training employees
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and be on call 24/7
Maintaining Safety, Bio-Security and Animal Welfare protocols
Supporting the company’s ISO program
Performing regular hatchery duties
Scheduling of crews as needed
May perform other duties as deemed necessary by hatchery management
